Horse Health Requirements

  • Horses coming from outside of Ohio will need a current Coggins Test and Health Certificate
  • No requirements for in state horses

NOTES:

  • Ohio considers a current Coggins: one taken within the past 12 months
  • Certificates of Health are only good for 30 days

Parking Permit

  • Parking Permit must be pre-purchased by June 20th
  • Permits allow parking of a vehicle (vehicle only) in designated areas south of
  • Permits are not available for purchase at the event
  • Parking Guidelines provided by the Fair are included in this guide

ATTENTION!!

  • Remember we are performing in a public venue
  • Be mindful that many people have limited knowledge about horses


SECURITY ALERT!!

  • Keep your guns secured and/or on your person at all times
  • Guns must be tethered when interacting with the public

Getting in and settled

**NO HORSES ON THE GROUNDS BEFORE 8PM**

  • Move in on Friday 8pm
  • Saturday move in will be between 6am and 10am.
  • report to the shoot office and verify your entry is correct and all your fees are paid.  Shoot office location TBA on Facebook Group


NOTES:

  • We highly recommend coming in Friday night, since the unloading and parking procedure is time consuming.
  • Plan to leave plenty of time to unload and get parked, don’t wait to last minute
  • Expected lots of traffic and bring your patience
  • The Mid-Ohio Maurauders will have gulf carts to help as much as we can.
  • Bring a wagon for hauling feed tack or whatever between your   trailer and stall.
  • Monitor the Mid-Ohio Marauders Facebook Group for updates
  • (frankly we can’t provide all the details now since this is a first time event)

Survival guide 

Check the Mid-Ohio Marauders Facebook Group frequently when you are moving into the shoot.  We will post last minute changes there if they occur.

Disclaimer:  This is a living document.  This is the first time a CMSA sanctioned event will be held at the Ohio State Fair and information maybe updated and changed as the shot date nears.

Camping Available about 4pm

  • Camping is $20.00/night and needs to be pre-paid by June 20th
  • Camping fees are non-refundable after July 1st
  • Make your camping reservation by purchasing camping on the online store
  • Camping is remote and primitive
  • Generators encouraged
  • Camp sites available starting at 4pm Friday July 27th, 2018
  • No camping or trailer parking will be available south of 17th Ave.
  • Parking is tight so bring your patience.  Fellow shooters will be glad to help you find a spot and get parked.

Cowboy Mounted Shooting Association

Stalls  - Available about 8pm

  • Stalls are $30 for the weekend and need to be pre-paid by June 20th
  • To reserve a stall purchase it on the online store, stalls are recommend since trailers will not be parked near the arena
  • Limited tack stalls, other tack storage options may be provided (no charge)
  • Stall floors are asphalt
  • Bring your own bedding or purchase bedding from the feed store for $6/bag
  • Stalls will be located in the Gilligan Complex and available starting at 8pm Friday July 27th

Entering

Traveling to the shoot
Location: Ohio State Fair, 717 E 17th Ave, Columbus, OH 43211, 614-644-3247, www.ohioexpocenter.com

You will exit US 71 west on to Hudson Street (Exit 112).

Exhibitors traveling south on I-71 will exit Hudson Street (exit 112) go across Hudson Street onto Silver Drive.  At the first traffic light on Silver Drive, turn right and follow the signs to Gate 10 for entrance to the fairgrounds. Exhibitors traveling north on I-71 will exit Hudson Street (exit 112) and turn left onto Hudson Street and go to the first traffic light, which is Silver Drive, turn left onto Silver Drive, then turn right at the first light, follow the signs to Gate 10 for entrance to the fairgrounds.  Follow traffic control directions to the horse barn.

Please follow directions listed (see Livestock Trailer Parking Area) to Gate 10.  No parking around any of the livestock buildings. 

You are required to park your livestock trailer in the north lot or in the designated camping area. There is no charge to park your trailer in the north lot. Exit Gate 9 and turn left onto 11th Avenue, drive to 1-71, turn left and drive to Hudson Street exit, turn left, drive to the 1st traffic light, which is Silver Drive, turn left onto Silver Drive, then turn right at the 1st light.  Follow the signs to the camping area or livestock trailer parking area.   

Those camping will be able to park their trucks (car), by their camping spot.  Only one vehicle can park at each campsite.
